This study aims find out more about implementation of therapeutic community on victims of drug abuse at Madiun Prison which is includes the characteristics of addiction counselor, the assessment stage, the planning stage, and the four stage of therapeutic community, namely the induction stage, the primary stage, the re entry stage, and the after care stage.
This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The data sources in this study consisted of primary data sources and secondary data sources obtained by collecting data using purposive sampling techniques. Informants in this research amounted to six people. Data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies.
The results of the study showed that all stages of therapeutic community have been implemented. Overall, in the implementation of therapeutic community, several problems were found, such as the assessment stage was not on target, because the number of inmates was determined to be limited even though there were still drug addiction were not given the opportunity to take part in the assessment, and the planning stage there is no discussion because the plan is given the same to the inmates and undifferentiated based on the problem and level of addiction. The researcher design a program to cope this problem by “Capacity Building of Addiction Counselors”

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih dalam tentang implementasi therapeutic community pada korban penyalahguna napza di Lapas Kelas I Madiun yang meliputi karakteristik konselor adiksi, tahap asesmen, tahap rencana intervensi, serta pelaksanaan empat tahapan dalam therapeutic community, yaitu tahap induksi, tahap primary stage, tahap re entry, dan tahap after care.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari sumber data primer dan sumber data sekunder yang diperoleh dengan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah enam orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan adalah wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh tahapan proses menuju implementasi therapeutic community dilaksanakan di Lapas Kelas I Madiun. Namun secara keseluruhan, dalam implementasi therapeutic community ditemukan beberapa permasalahan seperti pada tahap asesmen dilakukan dengan tidak tepat sasaran, karena jumlah warga binaan sudah ditentukan terbatas oleh Lapas Kelas I Madiun sekalipun ada warga binaan yang masih ketergantungan tidak diberi kesempatan untuk mengikuti asesmen serta pada tahap rencana intervensi tidak ada diskusi rencana tindak lanjut karena rencana intervensi diberikan sama kepada warga binaan dan tidak dibedakan berdasarkan masalah dan tingkat kecanduannya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka peneliti mengusulkan program yaitu, “Peningkatan Kapasitas Konselor Adiksi”.
